Southern Gospel has been at the core of Crossroads' mission since we began in 1993. Many of the biggest names in Southern Gospel today are on our labels – acts like The Kingsmen, The Kingdom Heirs, The McKameys, Ivan Parker, the Talley Trio, and the Dove Brothers. These relationships help us to maintain the best selection of Southern Gospel Soundtracks on the web.
Confused by terminology? In the world of Southern Gospel, soundtracks are recordings of songs without the lead vocals. On our site we distinguish between different types of soundtrack in this way:
Performance Tracks include any song without lead vocals
Original Artist Tracks are taken from the original studio session and remastered without the lead vocals.
Crossroads Soundtracks are new recordings of older classic songs without the lead vocals. They are sometimes called “Singing News Soundtracks” because they were released under that brand name from 2000-2008.
Wedding Soundtracks are songs commonly sung by soloists at weddings and may include any of the above.
Accompaniment Tracks is a generic term sometimes used on the web; it can refer to any of the above.
