Matt Rankin founded Soul'd Out a trio in Georgetown, Ohio in 2001. They added bass singer Matt Fouch in 2004, becoming an all-male quartet. Soul'd Out has won both the Singing News Fan Award for Horizon Group of the Year and SoGospelnews.com's Breakthrough Artist Award.
