Gerald Wolfe began touring with the Dumplin Valley Boys in 1981. He stayed with them until 1986, when he joined the Cathedrals. He left the Cathedrals in 1988 for a short-lived solo career, before forming Greater Vision with Mark Trammell in 1990. Original tenor Chris Allman stayed for five years, then left for fifteen before returning in 2010. Trammell left to join Gold City in 1993, and was replaced by singer/songwriter Rodney Griffin, who remains with the group today. Greater Vision and its members have received numerous awards, including Favorite Trio, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year in the Singing News Fan Awards and the Southern Gospel Music Association's annual awards. They have been featured on the Gaither Gospel Series and appear regularly on Dr. Charles Stanley's In Touch television program.
