Dale Ann Bradley grew up in Kentucky as the daughter of a Primitive Baptist minister, in a church where no musical instruments were allowed. She joined the New Coon Creek Girls in 1991 and released her first solo project in 1997. In the late 1990s, the group was renamed Dale Ann Bradley and Coon Creek. Bradley was named the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Female Vocalist of the Year in 2007 and 2008.
