After the marketing arm of Crossroads was assembled in the 90’s, a label was needed for promising song writer/artists and emerging Independent artists. Crossroads Records was born! With the familiar name of the company doubling as the label name, artists have a home base identity that enables them a reputable place to grow their ministries from. Sprouting artists such as The Crist Family have their beginnings here.
Created in 1992, this label was launched with top Gospel artists, The Kingsmen and The McKameys. Legendary Eldridge Fox and Mickey Gamble of then Horizon Music Group were able to put these two groups together in what would prove to be the beginning of Crossroads’ status as a Southern Gospel record industry leader. Horizon artists have dominated the charts for the past decade and continue to raise the bar in music production quality. Today Horizon Records continues to represent superior artists that travel the globe proclaiming Christ through their music ministries.
Many Gospel Bluegrass artists were looking for a true record company with the ability to properly market bluegrass gospel music. Subsequently, Mickey Gamble and Tim Surrett formed this label, debuting Tim Surrett’s first gospel bluegrass release, featuring guest artists such as Karen Peck Gooch and Steve Gully. Today, Mountain Home has become one of the top gospel bluegrass labels in the business, representing stellar artists such as Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, The Boxcars and Balsam Range.
Sonlite Records was born in 1986 in Nashville, Tennessee under the ownership and management of Chris White. The debut single from the label's first artist, Cedar Ridge, was a national top 40 hit. The label's second artist, the Kingdom Heirs, released "It's a Matter of Time" as their debut single, and hit #2 in the charts. Sonlite quickly became an industry leader, with an early roster including current mainstays like The Kingdom Heirs, The Hoppers, Down East Boys, and the Dixie Echoes. The label continues to serve the industry and fans of the of the southern gospel genre with award winning artists.
Skyland Records is Crossroads' launch pad for promising new Southern Gospel artists. Launched in 2011, it helps artists capitalize on Crossroads' far-reaching retail and digital distribution services. Skyland artists have the opportunity to record in Crossroads' state-of-the-art studios, with the award-winning production team.
Crossroads launched Pisgah Ridge Records in 2011 to provide a home for emerging Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel artists. A&R Director Tim Surrett brings years of experience to his work with Pisgah Ridge artists; he co-founded Mountain Home, a leading Bluegrass record company, and is a founding member of Bluegrass supergroup Balsam Range.
Launched by multi-award winning producers Wayne Haun and Kevin Ward, Vine Records is the creative home for artists such as Janet Paschal, Lewis, Scruggs and Long, The Nelons, HisSong, Lillie Knauls, Naomi & and The Segos. Crossroads became the distribution home for this label in 2006, which continues to represent popular artists in the gospel market.
