Calvary Construction Company was founded in the mid-1990s. The group was managed by Louie Wilson. Lead singer Eddie Bolton came to the group as a temporary fill-in after singing with the Speer Family. He was ultimately hired as the full-time lead. Bolton also wrote a number of the group's radio hits, including "You Had Your Hand on Me" and "No Blues in Heaven." Gus Gaches, who came to the group with a background in studio engineering, did most of the group's distinctively tight vocal arrangements. Calvary Construction Company disbanded in July 2005. Since their time with the group, Eddy Bolton has gone on to sing with Three Bridges, and arranger/tenor vocalist Gus Gaches has sung with the Mike LeFevre Quartet and Legacy Five.
