Ronnie and Michael Booth grew up around Southern Gospel music, thanks to their father Ron Booth's years singing tenor for the Rebels Quartet and other Southern Gospel groups. Ron, Michael, and Ronnie began singing together in 1990. Eight years later, Ron retired, and the group moved to a full-time basis. For several years, including the time that the Booth Brothers spent with Crossroads, their baritone singer Joseph Smith contributed baritone vocals, songwriting, and piano playing to the group. The Booth Brothers are one of Southern Gospel's most awarded groups, picking up Singing News Fan Awards for Artist of the Year, Trio of the Year, and Favorite Tenor, Lead, and Baritone over the years.
