This Sunday, October 31, marks the 493rd anniversary of the day Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the castle church in Wittenburg, Germany—the day the Protestant Reformation began. Today, Chile, Slovenia, and parts of Germany celebrate it as a civic holiday, while Christians around the world remember the date, perhaps less formally, as a landmark date in church history.
Happy Reformation Day!
In honor of the occasion, here is a video of Kim Collingsworth (pianist for the Collingsworth Family) playing Martin Luther’s best-known hymn, “A Mighty Fortress is Our God”:
The video comes from her 2007 DVD, Kim Collingsworth: Personal (CD/mp3 version here).
