This is the perfect recording to start your Akins collection. It contains most of the songs recorded on the group’s first two albums. Better than that you get to hear the group in a live concert setting. All live music and vocals is what you get from Akins and that is a breath of fresh air in the modern Southern Gospel era concert experience.

Southern Gospel Review features the Akins
Andy at Southern Gospel Review featured the Akins‘ Christmas single “Love at First Sight” earlier this week:
Several Christmas songs written for Southern Gospel artists often take a good bit of time to connect the Gospel with the Christmas story. “Love at First Sight” shows the listener exactly from where the true love comes, not from Hollywood as some may claim. The belief of love at first sight speaks of the connection with the Father’s eyes.

The Akins Receive 3 ICMA Nominations
Crossroads Records recording artists The Akins, have just received word that they have been nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, and Christian Country Song of the Year (“I Want My Stage To Be An Altar”) for the 2010 Inspirational Country Music Awards. Congratulations Nick, Eli, Dave and David!
On August 15, 2010, The Akins will be filming their first Live DVD. The filming will take place at Harps Crossing Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia at 6:30 PM (Doors open at 5:30 PM).
The DVD is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2011 through Crossroads.
