Tribute Quartet just found out that their current single, “That’s Why I Love Him So,” is their first top 10 radio hit. It charted at #10 on the May 2010 Singing News top 80 chart.
“Jim Stover’s hard work in radio promotion for Crossroads continues to pay off for our Artists, including now Tribute Quartet,” said Crossroads co-owner Jeff Collins. “Jim and all of the staff at Crossroads wish continued success to this fine group of men and we certainly are proud to be a partner in their ministry.
The song is co-written by Brian Alvey and Gary Casto, Tribute’s tenor and lead singers. It is from their first Crossroads CD, For This Time. (Sound clips are here.)

It was an exciting night at the 2009 National Quartet Convention as two Horizon Records artists took home Singing News Fan Awards. Ivan Parker was the recipient of the Soloist of the Year Award given at the ceremony at the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center in Louisville on September 19. The other honored group that night was the Crist Family who received the Horizon Group Award for best new artist in 2009. The Singing News Fan Awards are presented each year at NQC and provide Southern Gospel enthusiasts the opportunity to recognize outstanding performers and groups in the industry. Each of the artists offered words of humbled appreciation.
Horizon Records executive Mickey Gamble comments, “To those people who have wondered about who will be the next “legends” in Southern Gospel Music, I would just say that Ivan Parker is already there.” On the Crist Family, Gamble continues, “Five years ago the Crist Family was totally unknown in our industry but God knew their name. And now everybody does.”

Fan Award Winners
Each year at the National Quartet Convention, Crossroads hosts an event where groups can chat with the artists and get liners for their radio programs. Here’s a video of Lauren Talley explaining what happens:
