Darin and Brooke Aldridge CD release Party, Stunning in the Sun

Posted on: August 1st, 2011 by No Comments

Darin and Brooke, along with sponsors Choice USA, distributor of Sun Drop, held a mini music festival at the Cleaveland County Fairgrounds in Shelby, NC to celebrate the new Mountain Home Music release, So Much In Between, which finds its official street date August 16, 2011. The event also included multiple vendors and an emerging artist stage that hosted amateur and professional bands, as well as a student band instructed by Darin Aldridge.

Although complicated by an unseasonably high heat index and an eventual lightning threat that prevented the concert from going to its full length, the band commanded a stellar performance with ideal sound and execution that resulted in a CD quality concert experience.

With finely rehearsed arrangements and vocal harmonies rivaling the best in the music world, the group offered select singles from the new release as well as songs from the band’s prior releases and a healthy mix of Bluegrass classics.

By dusk, many local fans and regional attendees braved the heat to hear and see a spectacular night of music.

Balsam Range #1 Bluegrass Single for May and June

Posted on: June 13th, 2011 by No Comments

The title track from Trains I Missed has landed Balsam Range at the top of the National Bluegrass Survey’s single chart for two consecutive months.
Since Trains I Missed came out last September, this Mountain Home artist has quickly climbed into the Bluegrass charts. Beginning at the first of this year, they’ve received top spots on Sirius XM’s Bluegrass Junction’s most played albums and single charts, and topped the March Bluegrass Music Profiles chart.
Balsam Range’s previous release, Last Train to Kitty Hawk (2009), also saw its title track garner #1 success.

This is the first time a Mountain Home recording artist has spent two consecutive months at the top of the National Bluegrass Survey chart.

Crossroads Invites Independent Artist to Their Radio Sampler

Posted on: May 20th, 2010 by No Comments

As of January 2009, Crossroads has now implemented a download process through our web site in which DJ’s can easily download your single release via a secure web page. For our DJ friends who have not moved over to this technology, Crossroads will still make available an actual CD Sampler as we have in the past. This new process will enable us to deliver singles in a more timely fashion and provide any additional updated information quickly. As word grows of this new opportunity, we expect to see the number of outlets receiving our single releases to increase greatly over time. We have already seen DJ’s from Norway and South America sign up for this delivery system! This will be a great benefit to those who release with Crossroads. Jim Stover, director of radio here at Crossroads states, “After surveying a large block of broadcasters, we’re excited to be moving to digital delivery for our single releases. With this modern method of “shipping songs,” radio professionals across the country and around the globe now have instant, equal access to the Southern and Bluegrass Gospel music produced and distributed by Crossroads!”

Every month, Crossroads delivers new single releases on our top label artists, such as The Talley Trio, The Kingdom Heirs, Ivan Parker, The Inspirations, Mark Bishop, Lauren Talley, The Kingsmen, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, The Collingsworth Family, Janet Paschal and The McKameys (just to name a few!), and we offer slots monthly to Independent Artists interested in growing their ministries. Your single release if offered right next to today’s top charting Gospel Artists.

A flat fee of $600 is the price for having your single released with Crossroads. You can release multiple singels at appropriate intervals, usually every 4-6 months.

Crossroads is interested in helping you grow your ministry by exposing your work to a greater Christian community. Please email us by simply clicking on the email address below or call us at 828-684-3066 ext. 311.

Crossroads/Mountain Home at IBMA

Posted on: October 15th, 2009 by No Comments

I had a great time representing Crossroads/Mountain Home at this year’s International Bluegrass Music Association’s yearly conference in Nashville, Tn. Highlights included seeing a great showcase Monday night of our newly signed artist, Darin and Brooke Aldridge, visiting with Andrea Roberts and Jessie Law from the Andrea Roberts Agency, and catching up with former Mountain Home Recording artists The Lonesome River Band, New Found Road and Dale Ann Bradley. It was also great to see our friend and Horizon Recording Artist Doyle Lawson who is making plans for an upcoming Gospel release in 2010! I also attended the IBMA’s yearly awards ceremony at the Ryman Auditorium on Thursday, October 1st. The company was not nominated for a particular award as in years past but it was a pleasure to sit in the historic Ryman and watch performances by some of the best in the Bluegrass world.
The week rounded out on Friday and Saturday, October 2nd and 3rd, with Bluegrass Fan Fest. The weekend included performances by the top new and established acts in the industry including Doyle Lawson and my good friends and Mountain Home Artists, Balsam Range. What a great performance!
Thanks for the great week folks and see you next year.
Here is a video highlight of Darin and Brooke Aldridge at their Monday night IBMA selected showcase.

Balsam Range’s Last Train to Kitty Hawk

Posted on: March 12th, 2009 by 3 Comments

Along with sales and promotion here at Crossroads, I am the Bluegrass Guru. I play it, listen to it and love it. Sometimes I am made fun of for it but it is worth it! Especially when some good friends and extremely talented guys like the members of Balsam Range produce such a great recording like the one that was released on Mountain Home this January. The CD: Last Train to Kitty Hawk has already hit the national Bluegrass charts published by Bluegrass Unlimited [edit: link expired] debuting at 27 for the title track and 15 for the overall album play. That was quick! If you are in the area you can attend the band’s CD release party at the Colonial Theater in Canton, NC this Saturday March 14th at 7 p.m.
