I recall the day in July of last year when I called Brenda Robinson of New Desire

Her angelic voice and matching countenance have made Janet Paschal a perennial favorite since pre-Reagan White House years. When you look at the lady, that’s hard to believe! God has been faithful and Janet has remained true, and even through the valley of life-threatening illness, Janet Paschal never lost her song or reason for singing.
Stone Truth In a Rocky World
When the promotion of the single, “Help Is On the Way” was completed and that fine song was happily perched at # 1, it was time for us to select another single. I remember sitting in my office listening to the project and when “Eternity Has Two” came up, it was as though a hand reached down out of that boom-box and grabbed me! The power of the lyric and message against the simple, yet perfectly matched melody resonated deep inside my heart. I believed it would do that with many others as well. So did Mickey Gamble, and of course, the man who handpicked the song for the album, Mr. Doyle Lawson. Seven months later, we’re all thrilled that it did indeed become a big follow-up hit to DL & Q’s first Singing News # 1 song, “Help Is On the Way!”
Talley Up!
Nobody can say these “kids”‘ are a flash in the pan! The previous twelve years have rendered one hit after another. And rightfully so – they’re one of the most talented and dedicated families around! The trio’s current radio single, “Life Goes On” has had an amazingly rapid rise in the charts. I kind a’ chuckle to myself as I remember Roger Talley’s remarks right before its release. The very humble and reserved singer-producer said, “I don’t know how well it’ll do on radio, but it’s a message we want to convey.”
When Roger says that, which he does often, I feel quite content on two fronts. Number one, the song will probably go on to be a huge hit, because the man can pick ‘em! And number two, if it doesn’t, well, you can figure it out.
Sometimes It Makes Sense to Say “I Quit”
The Dills
Good things come to those who wait! In the case of this song, Tim Dill received it from songwriter-artist Ann Downing several years before the group actually recorded it. “I filed it away for a future recording then forgot about it,” Tim said. “When we were looking for songs for our “The Story of a Lifetime” project, I came across “I Quit” and knew it was perfect for the CD!”
Note from Jim Stover of Crossroads: “I Quit” grabbed my heart by the ears within seconds of the first listen. Whenever a lyric, melody and message converge the way they do here, you know that the marriage was made in heaven!” In my opinion, in a perfect radio world, this is a Top 5 song!
